Colors...colors everywhere

I finished my Thank you watercolor.

I started this watercolor thinking about flowers and rhinestones, but now I just see COLORS.

Anyone that has known me for years knows that I love purple. When I was growing up I'd always find a way to incorporate purple in my outfit=0) 

I must of looked crazy because my school uniform was navy and red=0/

OH...no worries...I didn't mind at all that purple never matched. 

Hahahaha!

I won't even tell you about my purple metallic socks. 

OH...I loved the 70's.

SO...now that I'm older I'm really enjoying other colors too. 

I think that this new card shows that.

Hahahaaha.

I'm excited to see how it looks when I get the finished product from the printers.

Magical garden

HAPPY MONDAY.

I'm hoping you had a nice weekend.

 It was so beautiful here and it was REALLY time to clean up the garden. It always amazes me how quickly weeds can take over. Our little gnome was in desperate need of a bubble bath=0)

After spending so much time outside I was inspired. 

I would love a magical garden that was always filled with blooms.

A quick getaway for a cup of tea and a scone. Mmmmmmmm.

Lettering

HOLA.

I started a lettering class.

        Lettering is done by hand...it's not a font. Who would of known that? Not me. Anyways....

LOL

Our first assignment was to pick something special to write.

So, I decided I'd start with something short and sweet.

ENJOY IT.

One day I was struggling to quickly get on a Disney bus with a stroller, a baby, a cooler full of drinks and snacks, plus four sweaters. Lets just say I was...a little frazzled. As I was about to get on I made eye contact with an older gentleman. We smiled at each other and he quietly said...enjoy it. He made me feel like he knew my struggle. Like he had been in that exact situation. He was kind enough to get my attention quietly and to remind me to roll with the punches. Message was received and I ended up enjoying that magical Disney day.

Dreaming on water finished

We were up in Pasadena visiting family over the St. Patrick's Day celebration. We had a super fun time, but I'm back and super excited about class this evening. Here is my girl all glittered up!

In the garden

Today I just finished cutting my art work and am just about to seal them. These are going to be for my new spring pieces. The sand dollars were a custom order, so they will be going to Florida soon. I'm super excited to post the finished pieces soon. 

Which one do you like best? I think I'm leaning toward the purple ones=0)

For the love of color

The other day I went to the store and found some great supplies. I wanted to try some gouache. I got a couple of bright Spring colors. 

Yesterday I made a little sketch and added a little POP of color.

It was really fun=0) I just added a little water to create the lighter areas. It dried pretty fast, so I could add the ink on top for the details pretty quickly. I really recommend having fun with these paints.

I just love how the colors stayed so neon.

Pretty flowers

Yesterday, we were out exploring and we bumped into an art supply store...and gelato too.

I had to go inside and check out some thing, since they were having a huge sale;oP

So, I found some fun stuff. Some new paper, markers and paint.

Last night I made a little sketch and had a little fun adding a little ink.

There were SO many pretty flowers downtown yesterday, so it just added to my Spring fever.

Me-It has to be somewhere. I found so many things....even a note to the tooth fairy.

I'm baaackkkk....sort of. 

Hope you all had a wonderful Christmas. We made it back after six days of visiting family and friends. We had a SUPER fun time and after all the laundry is done...I had to paint a little something. I was inspired by a sketch by Katie Rodgers of PAPERFASHION and my love for See's Candies. I loved the shoes and dress and I thought I'd give it a shot.  Check out her work...so WOW. Here is my candy girl! Doesn't she look like she'd give you a cavity?

Broken heart

I started painting this on Friday after I dropped off my little queen at preschool.

When I found out about the poor children and adults that died that morning I still kept painting with a broken heart. May all those little angels rest in peace.

Stop to smell the roses

I have a friend that embroiders like...so awesome.

One day we went to an embroidery shop and WOW...they are not messing around in there. I was so inspired to make something, but I couldn't pick anything out. They had so many wonderful kits and the thread colors. I though I'd take a baby step and paint one first=0) I'm still working on this one, but I'm almost done. To all you out there that love embroidery...hope you like my version.

X-I'm pretty proud of myself.

Me-Me too. I don't think I'd like that.

X-Why? Why are you so scared all the time? It was fun, but my six pack hurts from the intensity of the sparring.

Puppy love

This is a tiny commission of the cutest little dog ever. Up close you can see all the details, but I only had a quick moment before I put on the top coating. Someone is going to have a fun surprise under the Christmas tree=0)

X-How can just one guy go all the way around the world in one night? He stops at EVERY house?

Me-He's very magical.
